2024 Earth Day

Mixed Media Collection

Call for Entry

Overview and Objective:

The Climate Club (TCC) is a nonprofit program that is dedicated to deliver digestible and accessible information on climate change, sustainability, and environmental health. Through our platform we aim to not only communicate science and combat misinformation, but to also empower young scholars across the world to voice their perspectives and write evidence-based, non-biased articles to engage the public in critical thinking and active reasoning.

The objective of the 2024 TCC Mixed Media Collection is to encourage youth innovation and creativity while raising awareness over climate and environmental justice issues. The art collection is a part of the Youth Initiative at TCC. Through this program, we hope to empower youth to speak up and share their perspectives on pressing environmental justice issues.

Entry fees:

None

Topic:

Climate change and environmental justice.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, environmental justice refers to the just treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of income, race, color, national origin, Tribal affiliation, or disability, in agency decision-making and other Federal activities that affect human health and the environment so that people:

  • are fully protected from disproportionate and adverse human health and environmental effects (including risks) and hazards, including those related to climate change, the cumulative impacts of environmental and other burdens, and the legacy of racism or other structural or systemic barriers; and

  • have equitable access to a healthy, sustainable, and resilient environment in which to live, play, work, learn, grow, worship, and engage in cultural and subsistence practices.

Environmental injustice, including the proliferation of climate change, systematically impacts communities of color and low-income communities in the U.S. and around the world.

As the next generation of artists, use the media you prefer to depict or capture your perspective on climate change and environmental justice issues.
