Scientific Writers

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Create 2-3 original, unique, and engaging pieces of content per week based on thorough research 

  • Help distribute content by collaborating with our social media department  

Required Qualifications and Education: 

  • Passionate about science communication 

  • BAs, Masters, or PhDs, in either one or more of the following disciplines: climate, sustainability, public health, environmental health sciences, and environmental health policy. 

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex scientific concepts and make them easily understandable in text 

  • Excellent writing skills in English 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Self-motivated and able to work largely independently, and as part of a team 

  • Works well under tight deadlines and can ensure high volume of work while retaining the desired content quality 

  • Must work well in culturally diverse environment 

  • Prevalent experience: 0-2 yrs. Experience as a Content Writer or similar role is preferred!

Content Development Summer Intern

Content Editors

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with members of the science team (including curriculum developers, subject matter experts, science writing editors, and project managers) to develop scientifically rich, digestible, and authentic content 

  • Revise content for scientific accuracy, consistency, style, clarity, and grade-level appropriateness 

  • Complete work in a timely manner to meet an agreed-upon deadline 

  • Collaborate with peers and partners across the organization on relevant content and projects

Required Qualifications and Educations: 

  • Passionate about science communication 

  • BAs, Masters, or PhDs, in either one or more of the following disciplines: English, creative writing, and journalism. 

  • Ability to follow explicit instructions consistently but also to exercise good judgement when making work-related decisions 

  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking 

  • Ability to quickly learn and master new technologies and processes 

  • Ability to positively receive and implement constructive feedback 

  • Self-motivated and able to work largely independently, and as part of a team 

  • Works well under tight deadlines and can ensure high volume of work while retaining the desired content quality 

  • Must work well in culturally diverse environment 

  • Prevalent experience: 0-2 yrs. Experience as a Content Editor or similar role is preferred!

Science Education Intern

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of science curriculum lesson plan templates, slide decks, worksheets, and activities related to Climate Change and/or Environmental Health Education 

  • Assist the Science Education Lead in the planning of module scope, sequence, narrative, pedagogy, and approach for curriculum 

  • Work with Science Education Graphics Intern to create accurate and relevant infographics 

  • Gather information about online curriculum options and create new options based on knowledge gaps and needs that are observed 

Preferred Qualifications and Educations: 

  • Experience in a classroom or working in an educational setting 

  • Knowledge of instructional design and effective learning practices 

  • Strong desire to create quality educational materials for a variety of students and educational background
